
Hispanic Heritage Month Brings Culture, Community to ¹û¶³´«Ã½app
The University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app – Fort Smith will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 with a series of events honoring the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans.
Hosted by the ¹û¶³´«Ã½app Hispanic Heritage Committee, the monthlong celebration will include the annual Salsa at the Bell Tower, set for Tuesday, Sept. 23, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½app Bell Tower. The event will feature Latin music, dancing, food and community engagement in honor of Hispanic cultures.

Hispanic Heritage Month is a nationally recognized observance that celebrates the achievements and influence of Hispanic Americans. The celebration begins each year on Sept. 15, a date that coincides with the independence anniversaries of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
The ¹û¶³´«Ã½app Hispanic Heritage Committee encourages students, faculty, staff and community members to participate in events throughout the month to foster inclusion and appreciation for the diverse Hispanic cultures represented on campus and across the country.
